Details & Compensation:
This position is initially part-time and compensation equity-based, in lieu of cash compensation, moving to full time with cash compensation upon company funding (3-6 months). We are currently a virtual team, no immediate relocation required, but the company will be headquartered in the Bay Area, so Bay Area is strongly preferred.

Job description
WeMeUs, Inc. is looking for an experienced business development professional to join our team. In this role, you will identify and evaluate partnership opportunities, present recommendations, negotiate and close prioritized business deals, working closely with our development and product team. Our ideal candidate is a top performer with a proven track record of online business development, lots of energy and enthusiasm, a demonstrated ability to think creatively, and a passion for relationships and networking. As Director of Business Development, you will initially be responsible for developing partnerships with online and offline companies and affinity groups who work with, sell to and provide services for members of our initial beachhead. In addition, you will develop revenue-generating relationships with eCommerce partners, and later participate in development of advertising partners. You will be responsible for driving the partnering from the business model to presentations and proposals, to executive-level partner sales, and through to implementation planning and ongoing account management. Our ideal candidate can handle all these roles initially and then scale to build a team as we are funded and traction with our partners and related revenues justify..

Responsibilities:
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential online and offline corporate partners and affinity groups.
  • Develop network of business relationships with the prioritized partners, starting with letters of intent and expanding to full partnerships by launch.
  • Define requirements for product development to aid in network growth and new targeting opportunities.
  • Ensure that WeMeUs has the business relationships to drive desired traffic, membership levels.
  • Analyze business relationships and results to develop best practices and new products/solutions to share with partners.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years business development management experience (and a track record of success) in the internet industry, ideally working with affiliate relationships, media sales or advertising business development organizations.
  • Ability and desire to work in a virtual, “bootstrap” environment.
  • Experience in early stage development and ambiguous environments.
  • Superior presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Graduate degree preferred
  • Adept at leading both strategy and execution.
  • Capable of devising and executing complex deal structures
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Passionate about winning and yet equally passionate about being "good to do business with"
  • The presence, visibility and record of accomplishment, which will enable you to immediately establish credibility both with the individuals on our team and those outside it.
  • Seasoning and maturity that often come with experience, combined with a high energy level and enthusiasm.
  • A “roll up the sleeves” attitude and a “hands-on” style.
  • A team player who facilitates the sharing of knowledge and the building of teams.
