Collection and Use of Information
|
Your Information
|
|
When you sign up for WeMeUs services, you may provide us with "Your Account Information"
and "Your Contact List", described in detail below (collectively, "Your Information"). |
Your Information:
Your name, your e-mail address and a private password are required by WeMeUs to
provide you with the Services. You may also provide other information to WeMeUs
relating to various services, including profile information about yourself or
passwords to third party offerings to enable WeMeUs aggregation and update functionality.
All of this information will become part of Your Information. |
Your Contact List:
As part of the WeMeUs services, you can view online your address book, including your
contact list, and any additional information you have on each of your contacts
(collectively, "Your Contact List"). This information will not be shared with anyone
without your permission.
We use Your Information to enable you to use the WeMeUs Services. Specifically:
|
Your Information and Your Contact List:
This information is stored on WeMeUs' secure servers. All information, including third
party passwords, will not be shared with any outside parties other than as necessary to
enable aggregation and update of information stored on third party services at your
request. If you forget your password, your password can be reset by selecting the Forgot
Password choice in which an e-mail will be sent to the registered e-mail address you
specify. The e-mail will contain a link to a secure page where your password can be reset.
No plain text passwords will ever be passed through e-mail. You are responsible for
maintaining the secrecy of your password. Since it allows access to Your Information and
Your Contact List, we recommend that you do not share your password with anyone.
|
We may use Your Information:
|
- To report on and assess service levels;
- To better understand on an aggregated basis how our services are used and gauge traffic patterns and determine
what services are used most frequently by our users;
- To verify access rights to services or content;
- To provide you with information about WeMeUs services, news and events through the Site or e-mail;
- To allow you to purchase WeMeUs services;
- To provide you with personalized content programming, instructions, suggestions and services.
|
|
Also, we may collect credit card and billing information for Premium Services from members who purchase them. Unless you have agreed otherwise, this information will be removed once the transaction has been completed, and will not be permanently stored by WeMeUs.
|
Limited Data Sharing |
WeMeUs will only share Your Information with third parties according to your instructions
and to provide you specific services. For example, we use a credit card processing company to
bill you for premium services. This business partner does not retain, share, or store any
personally identifiable information except to provide this service and is bound by a
confidentiality agreement which limits their use of such information.
We may share aggregated and anonymous demographic information with our business partners,
including the total number of members of WeMeUs services, or the total number of contacts of
members, or the geographic frequency of use of services. We may also develop algorithms
leveraging the information for such purposes as network analysis. But in all cases, no such
information will be linked directly to Your Information or Your Contact List.
We will use every reasonable effort to preserve your privacy and that of your contacts,
but we may need to disclose Your Information, including personally identifiable information,
when required by law if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply
with a court order or legal process served on WeMeUs (see "Government Authority" below for more
information). We will notify you of such actions where reasonable and permitted by law.
|
Rights to Your Information
|
|
You have the right to access, correct, update, and/or delete Your Information at any time.
You can do so by using the Software or the Services, by logging into the Site with your
username and password, or by contacting WeMeUs customer support. You will retain these
rights even in the event of a business transition.
|
Cookies
|
In order to improve the Services and the Site, we use "cookies" when you are logged into the
Site using your e-mail address and password. A cookie is a piece of data that is transferred
to your browser by a Web server and can only be read and understood by the server that
provided it to you. It acts as your computer's identification token and enables WeMeUs to
personalize your experience on the Site. The cookie also contains your e-mail address so that
we can make it easier for you to sign in. If you do not accept the cookie, you may not be able
to sign up for some of the Services.
Even though WeMeUs uses cookies to improve your experience on the Site and using the Services,
and our server logs your computer's IP (Internet Protocol) address, that information is not
used to identify you personally in any other way.
|
Log Files and Backups
|
WeMeUs uses log files on the client and server side. The data held in log files
includes your IP address, browser type, e-mail application, Internet service provider
("ISP"), referring/exit Web pages, computer platform type, date/time stamp, and user
activity. IP addresses are not tied to any Personally Identifiable Information. That log
data is used by WeMeUs to analyze trends, administer the Services, and improve service levels.
Your Information may also exist temporarily within regularly performed server
backups. WeMeUs keeps backups for no more than 60 days before deleting them subject to the
terms of this Privacy Policy.
|
Communications to Members
|
We may send all new Members confirmation e-mails verifying the ownership of the e-mail
addresses provided in Your Account Information. We also communicate with you to provide
requested services and in regard to issues relating to your account.
Members may occasionally receive information on WeMeUs services, news and events,
but have the option of not receiving these communications. You may change your current
setting by opting out of the WeMeUs newsletter or modifying your account preferences.
|
Links
|
The Site contains and Premium services may provide links to Web sites other than the
Site. Please be aware that WeMeUs is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other
Web sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave the Site or link to other sites,
to read the privacy policies of each and every site that collects personally identifiable
information. The WeMeUs Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected in connection
with the WeMeUs Site and Services.
|
Children's Privacy
|
WeMeUs is committed to protecting the privacy needs of children, and does not
knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. WeMeUs Services and Site
are not intended for and may not be used by children under the age of 13.
|
Legal Authority
|
With all legal contracts, you should be aware that our Terms of Service and this
Privacy Policy could be amended, terminated or modified without the consent of you and/or
WeMeUs by judicial proceeding, court order, in connection with bankruptcy or other
insolvency proceedings, or pursuant to other government action. When reasonable and lawful,
we will notify you if this occurs.
|
Security and Confidentiality
|
If you forget your password, your password can be reset by selecting the Forgot
Password choice in which an e-mail will be sent to the registered e-mail address you specify.
The e-mail will contain a link to a secure page where your password can be reset. No plain
text passwords will ever be passed through e-mail.
The Service uses Secure Socket Layer ("SSL") for the transmission of credit card
numbers between web browsers and the Service. It is also used when you are required to enter
a password for transmission of that password to WeMeUs services, except in cases of browsers
that do not support SSL.
|
Privacy Policy Changes
|
If changes are made to the WeMeUs Privacy Policy, we will post the new Privacy
Policy on the Site with a link from your homepage thirty days before those changes are
effective.
